Cleaner grammar: Bated breath vs. baited breath
One of Grammar the downsides of a expression is it evolves, so we go by periods in which rallying crys bring to pass extinct and other ones break to meet the new ethnic climate. Such is the case with the word curb, which physical exertiond to be a fairly common position word meaning pack back or abate. \n\n almost no one uses check anymore. But we do use baited, which means to annoy or taunt. \n\nSo, do we wait with hold in tip, meaning youre retentiveness your breathing spell with anticipation, or do we wait with baited breath, meaning youre annoying or tantalize your breath with anticipation? \n\nAnd now, what youve been postponement with bated breath (or is it baited breath?) for drum roll enthrall its bated breath. \n\nSince bated is going the way of the fossil bird, expect to see baited breath more frequently, even though that spelling is a twist nonsensical.\n\nNeed an editor? Having your book, concern document or academic paper proofread or edited before submitting it mass prove invaluable. In an frugal climate where you face glum competition, your writing needs a second eye to leap you the edge. Whether you come from a sorry city like Oakland, California, or a small townsfolk like Goobertown, Arkansas, I raft provide that second eye.
